Course Aims
This is the labs and reference section of a practical hands-on course is intended for readers wishing to qualify with Server+ Certification. The key objective of the course is to provide enough information for a student to become a competent server support engineer, capable of taking and passing the Server + Certification test. On completion of all five modules of this course, readers will know advanced-level technical competency of server issues and technology, including installation, configuration, upgrading, maintenance, environment, troubleshooting and disaster recovery. Study of the complete course can also help to prepare you for other, similar technical support qualifications and act as groundwork for more advanced training. |
Assumed Knowledge
Ideally, you should have successfully completed the "A+ Core Hardware" and "A+ OS Technologies" courses and have around 12 months' experience of PC support. It is not necessary that you pass the A+ exams before completing Server+ certification, but this is recommended. Regardless of whether you have passed A+, it is recommended that you have the following skills and knowledge before starting this course: Know the function and basic features of the components of a PC, know the PC startup process, use Windows to create and manage files and use basic administrative features (Explorer, Control Panel, Management Consoles), and basic network terminology (such as OSI Model, Topology, Ethernet, TCP/IP) |

It is also suitable for PC support technicians wanting to improve their skills in support and administration. The course has been developed to produce server support technicians who are capable of taking and passing CompTIA's Server+ Certification exam or other similar qualifications. |
